Blogging has become a really popular way to communicate with a wide audience over the internet. The term "Blog" comes from Web Log (which is a kind of journal). There are several services that provide easy to use formats for posting a blog to the internet. Of all of the services that are out there, I prefer to use Blogger.com. I have included a video and some basic instruction for creating a blogger account.

 

To create an account with blogger.com, you must first select "create a new account". then you begin following all of the prompts. The first prompt is for you to list a valid email address and a password.

You will then create a display name for your blog. This is the name that people will see when they navigate to your blog. You will also be prompted to retype the "validation" word or phrase. You will then need to click the check box for accepting the terms of service (after you read them of course).

Then you will supply a title for your blog. In my case, I would probably use something like "Web Design for Instruction". Then you will create a specific name for a URL for your site. The blogger people will let you know if your URL name is available by having you click the "Check Availability" link.

Next, you will be prompted to choose a specific template for your blog layout (this can be changed later).

Congratulations, you have created your first Blogger.com blog. You can begin using your new account by following the various prompts and instructions.
