Emily RoseBorn on 05/24/2001 at 12:46 PM5 pounds 9 ounces and 18.25 inches longApril 19, 2002Well, Emily has done a lot this month. She has really taken to crawling and pulling up. That kid will pull up on anything now. Poor Spanky isn't even safe anymore. She just lays there and behaves like a good old dog while Emily uses her as a ladder, pillow or punching bag, whatever her mood may be.Emily and the cat, Stymie, had it out the other day. Emily trapped Stymie at the end of the hallway and he couldn't get out since all of the doors were closed in an effort to childproof the rest of the house. All of the sudden, Stymie let out this horrible hiss. Emily jumped back and Stymie made his break for it. No one was injured in the melee, but the cat was pretty freaked out for a while. Emily caught chicken pox this week. Poor little gal...she just doesn't know that she is supposed to be miserable, so she keeps on smiling and playing despite all of the spots. She doesn't have what I would consider a bad case (not like the ones here daddy had a few years after we were married) so I hope she has had a bad enough case to keep from getting them in later years. Check out her chicken pox pictures. We also endured our first haircut this month. It was not a whole lot of fun for anyone involved. Poor Sue, the beautician, had a devil of a time. Every time she got ready to cut a lock of hair, Emily would kick or squirm and jerk the hair out of Sue's grasp. I felt bad for Daddy, too, since he had to hold her throughout the ordeal. Click here for pictures. Overall, it has been a busy month for us. And, if any of you see
Emily's grandparents, thank them for taking care of her during her bout
with the chicken pox.
