Movies Presentation

Originally, I included two movies on the site. One was a YouTube video called, “Charlie Bit Me”. Although it was funny, it did not fit the content of my site. My peer reviews and web check were all very consistent in their feedback regarding the video. I totally agree that its inclusion and having its own page was confusing and I removed it. I had embedded the video in the page. However, I used a different process for the second video.

The second movie is a video of my nephews playing baseball at Grandma’s.  I recorded some footage, imported it into imovie, and published it to my mobile me gallery. (Mobile me is a service through Mac that allows me to publish movies and photos to galleries on the web, as well as, syncing my computer and phone.)  The user is linked to the video gallery when they click, “Baseball”. I thought this would be a good way to conserve space on the site and allow others to publish their videos and photos to the gallery.

Unfortunately, all of the feedback on this video mentioned that it was not viewable, didn’t open, was missing content altogether, or kept sticking. Another suggestion was to add some information about the video near the title. This was all very useful information for me because I thought things were working alright. Again, my biggest issues regarding the principles of design are usability and testing.
