Interested in International travel study? The focus of travel study courses I’m involved with or lead are to learn, serve, share & exchange life experiences so students have an opportunity to connect with the commuities they visit and the people they are working with. The goal of these courses is to help students become global citizens who understand the role that culture plays in health and every aspect of a persons life.
The Department of Applied Health offers several options. For the 2017-2018 academic year we are offering the following options:
- Spring Break 2019 in Costa Rica
- Spend 9 days over Spring break in Costa Rica studying public health and exploring the country’s with an emphasis on environmental health issues of sustainability, eco-tourism, biodiversity, climate change, & conservation
- Apply for the 2019 Travel Study
- Summer 2018 in Uganda
- Spend 5 weeks in Uganda over the summer. This travel study is designed for students to live with Ugandan students and work in communities to assess needs and develop, implement and evaluate programs.
- Fall 2018 Puerto Rico
- Spend 10 days in Puerto Rico in December studying various aspects of public health and exploring the island.
