ST. LOUIS FIGHTS ANITA
BENEFIT, MAY 18
(from Prime Time, May, 1977, pp.10-11.)
St. Louisans for Human Rights, a group formed to fight Anita Bryant's anti-gay forces, held a very successful fund-raising beer blast the evening of April 24. The group is now planning another event to raise more funds to continue the fight, with the Dade County referendum on the gay rights ordinance scheduled for June 7, the need for funds to counteract Bryant's anti-gay publicity is crucial now. So mark May 18th on your calendar. On that evening, St. Louisans for Human Rights is sponsoring a benefit showing of the gay film, A Very Natural Thing at the Maplewood Theatre, 7180 Manchester. Here is your chance to see a film never before shown in St. Louis, and contribute to the cause of gay rights at the same time. For further information, contact Rich Garcia, coordinator of St. Louisans for Human Rights, at 652-3139.
