To compute your GPA, we will use your actual QUALITY POINTS you earned (remember — that you earned with your grade, not simply the number of points that were possible) and your earned credit hours.

You might be wondering why we spent all that time computing maximum quality points for each class if we're not going to use them in computing an actual GPA.

It's important to under the maximum value of classes so you see the results of your earned grades. When you earn less than an A grade, it means you leave points on the table. These points count against you -- and so you have to understand how they impact your bottom line!
