There are a wide variety of uses for Blogs in education. It seems to be used mostly as a journal. One of the major uses is similar to bulletin boards and discussion groups. Students interact by posting information about a certain subject. Some of the uses listed on schoolblogs.com include: links to websites as resources, observations on learning content, discussion forums, learning resources, and syllabus. There are two main styles of Blogs: Filter and Journal style. The Filter style blogs are set up so that the person running it has to look at all entries and decide which ones are most beneficial for the subject. The Journal style are more open. The postings are not filtered.(Laurie,2002)
