Ms. Popkess has her BSN from the University of Iowa and a Master's in Nursing Administration from St. Louis University. She has been teaching nursing since 1998. Her scholarly interests include breast cancer research and public health issues and the use of technology in education. Her background includes community health, med/surg and emergency room nursing. Ms. Popkess lives in Highland, Illinois with her husband and two sons.
