The Media in Modern Age (EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) Anna Quindlen is a woman who certainly needs no introduction. We here at Arts & Issues at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville are happy to announce that she will be appearing here for one memorable evening only on April 24, 2007 in the Meridian Ballroom. The Meridian Ballroom is located in the Morris University Center on campus across the quad from Lovejoy Library. Quindlen is known for her works in fiction, nonfiction, and self-help books, which have appeared on bestseller lists nationwide. She currently is working for Newsweek writing her own column. Her journalism skills won her the Pulitzer Prize and she was the third woman to write for the New York Times influential op-ed page. This event is the last of our wonderful season and what a way to end it all. She will fill the room with her charm and enlighten the audience with her stories. The Director of Arts and Issues at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Grant Andree had this to say about Thursday April 24’s event, “Having Anna Quindlen as our final guest in this series is a tremendous honor. Her accomplishments in life make her an even more remarkable woman than is known. Please come out and see her, you will not be disappointed.” Mr. Andree said it; this is an event you do not want to miss. The tickets for this event are $24 general admission and $12 for students. The tickets are available for purchase online or at the box office the night of the show. Throughout our events this season we have seen many people grace the stage, and Anna Quindlen is a remarkable way to end such an amazing season.
