Join Janet Evra and special guest Adam Maness for “An Evening in Paris” featuring French jazz favorites by Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Henri Betti, and Pink Martini, and more, with lyrics in English and French. Evra has performed this show to two sellout audiences at Jazz St. Louis, and she is touring this show across the USA this summer - this is a fabulous opportunity to enjoy this special show in the intimate charm of Joe's Cafe!
Janet Evra is an international jazz vocalist, bassist, and bandleader from England now based in St. Louis. Evra performs on premier stages across the USA and Europe, with recent international appearances at the Brecon Jazz Festival in Wales, the Deva Jazz Festival in Romania, the Linna Jazz Festival in Finland. In St. Louis, Evra regularly performs at Jazz St. Louis and The Sheldon - and, of course, Joe's Cafe! She has collaborated with GRAMMY-winning jazz superstars Randy Brecker, Taylor Eigsti, Jeff Coffin, Roy Wooten, Sara Gazarek, Bob Reynolds, and Dave Weckl and rising stars Andrea Motis, Chad LB, and Mohini Dey, among others. She has appeared in The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Riverfront Times, and St. Louis Magazine and in national jazz publications including JAZZIZ and All About Jazz. Her music is played on St. Louis radio stations 88.1 KDHX, 88.7 The Sound, 90.7 St. Louis Public Radio, and on hundreds of radio stations based in the USA, UK, France, Norway, India, and New Zealand. She sings in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French. She was a 2019-2020 Artist in Residence at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation.
Adam Maness is one of St. Louis' premiere jazz pianists and composers. Maness is a founding member of The 442s and is creative director at Open Studio, and he also leads his own jazz trio. He has performed around the world with award-winning artists from a plethora of musical genres. His songs and compositions have been featured on several national and international recordings, television shows, and films.
