Anita Kerr, Educational Training Specialist
Anita Kerr is an Educational Training Specialist for the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center (SIPDC), part of the ICCB Adult Education Professional Development Network. She holds a B.A. in English from Union University and an M.A. in English Literature from SIUE.
Anita has been working and teaching in the adult education field for over 20 years. She has served as a coordinator and an instructor in the areas of volunteer & workplace literacy, ESL, and ABE/ASE. She currently teaches online ASE classes for Lincoln Land Community College.
In addition to presenting at numerous regional, state, and national conferences on adult education topics, Anita has helped develop several statewide adult education curricula, as well as the Illinois’ ABE/ASE Content Standards for Language Arts. Her passion is supporting and training adult education practitioners, and her focus areas include Language Arts standards-based instruction, student persistence, and assessment. Anita is also a certified CASAS trainer.
