Dr. Erin Behnen is a professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Behnen completed a drug information specialty residency at The University of Tennessee (UT) in Memphis. During that time she also gained experience at the Southern Poison Center and UT Family Medicine Clinic. She remained at UT as a faculty member before her appointment at SIUE. She earned her B.S. and Pharm.D. degrees from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist and has served as an officer for the Drug Information Practice and Research Network through the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Clinical interests
Drug information and health education of patients with chronic disease, specifically hypertension, cardiovascular risk, diabetes and osteoporosis.
Scholarly interests:
Broad range of topics: Most recently her publications have centered on the scholarship of teaching by describing programs developed and initiated in a new School of Pharmacy and reviews based on drug information requests. Additionally, she is interested in wellness initiatives for the outpatient population with chronic diseases.
