Want to be an SIUE student? Not sure if the program you are interested in is available online? You can find out by checking SIUE Online Programs. Your first step will be to identify the program you wish to pursue and apply for admission.

After acceptance to the University

  • Contact your academic advisor to map out your course of study and determine your schedule for the upcoming session. Your academic advisor’s contact information is included in your letter of acceptance.
  • Activate your e-ID. This will give you access to your MySIUE account, which includes CougarNet and Blackboard (where your class is located). You will be able to register for your first class after you have met with your advisor who will release your advising hold.
  • Find a comprehensive list of all online courses that are available for a particular time.
  • Winter Session classes are not available to first-time, first-year students.

You will be able to register for Winter session courses during spring registration (select "Winter Session" from the registration calendar drop-down menu). Be sure to register on the first day classes are available; offerings are limited and will fill quickly. All undergraduate students must receive registration clearance from their academic advisor in order to register.

The Registrar will administratively drop students from Winter session courses if they are not in good standing at the time of registration. Students are permitted to enroll in only one Winter session course.

Graduate students are advised by a designated faculty member within their department. If you are not sure who your advisor is, please contact your academic department to be connected.
