With 5.3 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer's disease and estimates of up to 16 million Americans living with the disease by 2050, treatment and cure is clearly a priority. I'm pleased to announce the National Institutes of Health awarded a $2.65 million grant to our School for drug discovery of Alzheimer's disease therapeutics. I congratulate Dr. Ken Witt, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences and principal investigator, and his team of medicinal chemists, pharmacologists and pharmaceutics experts who have made finding a truly viable treatment for Alzheimer's job one. I invite you to read more about this research and award.
This, along with the other articles highlighted in the Rx Connection, demonstrates our School’s dedication to being at the forefront of education, research and service. Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Dr. Gireesh V. Gupchup
