Orange Shirt Day

University Club, MUC
Orange Shirt Day, traditionally celebrated in Canada on September 30th, is a day to recognize native and indigenous people who survived reservation schools and remember the children who died at these schools. The Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub will be hosting a speaker to shine a light on what reservation schools were, how they operated, and what happened to the children that were sent to them. During this presentation, participants are invited to complete an art activity to honor those that were lost and to remember the history.
