Equity and the Power of Perspective
12pm
Student Success Center, Room 0200
In college and beyond, we strive to use our education and experiences to discover who we are, why we make our choices, and how we see each other. For those of us, who face systems of inequity, however, this becomes far more challenging. Today, we're going to discuss how the power of perspective impacts our ability to dismantle injustice in our communities, find security in ourselves, and elevate each other to succeed. Collegiate Leadership Summit |
|
|
Looking to connect with students across Southern Illinois? Want to practice your public speaking skills? Wondering what your next step in your leadership development might be? Please consider the following:
The inaugural Collegiate Leadership Summit, hosted at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Saturday, February 8, 2020, is seeking proposals for student presenters and facilitators. We are looking for students to present breakout sessions, facilitate small group discussions, and speak about any exciting leadership work you may have done in this past year in a 5 minute snapshot format. Our hope is that all content delivered at this event will come from students, so we will need your help to make this possible! Proposals will be reviewed by student representatives from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Blackburn College. The successful candidates will be notified by December 4th, 2019. Click here for application forms, which are due Thursday, October 31st.
If you have any questions about the proposal or the event, please email Melinda Stitzel, Coordinator for Leadership Programs.
