Dr. Kelly M. Kennington of Auburn University will speak about her recent book, In the Shadow of Dred Scott: St. Louis Freedom Suits and the Legal Culture of Slavery in Antebellum America. She will discuss her book, which focuses on the legal cases of enslaved men, women, and children, who sued for their freedom in antebellum St. Louis. The presentation is being co-sponsored by the Department of Historical Studies and the Black Studies Program.

Come out and join National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) at this event that will focus on educating our community about the nine organizations that fall underneath NPHC. Each student that participates in this event will have the opportunity to learn about how these NPHC organizations have created their pathways into Black History. Free food will be provided!
