Come join SIUE Dance Marathon in celebrating Child Health Day this coming Monday, October 1st! We are participating in nation-wide event to continue to raise awareness and support #ForTheKids. Please join us at the Cougar Statue from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. for our Carnival and help us "commit for the kids"!

National Student Day


Thursday, October 4th, is National Student Day and SIUE wants to honor you!  Below are some things that are happening in celebration of National Student Day!

Golf Cart Rides

Student Government will be providing golf cart rides from from the student parking lots to your classes!

The Kimmel Student Involvement Center will be sponsoring an "SIUE Spirit Candy Bar"!  Stop by and get some sweet treats on your way to or from class!

Candy & Popcorn
8am - 1pm
Morris University Center, The Cougar Store
Stop by the Cougar Store and get some free popcorn and candy.  Students will get a 10% discount in the store on imprinted items that aren't currently on sale. Also, between October 1st - 6th, The Cougar Store will be collecting the below items for the Cougar Cupboard food pantry.  For each item a student brings in, they will receive a dollar off, up to $10 off per student.

Immigrants in our Midst – Continuing Education Opportunity

The "Immigrants In Our Midst - One Nation" Conference is designed to assist professionals interested in working with immigrant population in the surrounding Metro-East area. Continuing Education Units are available. 

Microsoft Excel: Beginner Level
6:00pm - 8:30pm
Tuesdays, October 9-November 13
Cost: $129 
Designed for students with limited or no previous experience with Microsoft Excel, this beginner-level course will introduce new users to Excel 2016 with an overview of Excel basics that provides a beginner-level foundation of the application. Elements covered in this course include creating and managing multiple worksheets, rearranging data, working with basic formulas and formatting, inserting charts and graphics, and sorting and organizing large amounts of data. A brief introduction to Windows is included. Basic mouse and keyboarding skills are required for this course. Textbook and online resource materials are provided.

Alternative Spring Break

An Alternative Spring Break trip is available to students who wish to serve communities outside of their own during spring break. These overnight trips provide students with a unique and fulfilling volunteer experience bringing together service and civic engagement, reflection, and development of leadership skills.
