New Students:
ACCESS is dedicated to achieving and promoting an accessible campus community to ensure that students of all abilities receive appropriate accommodations and equal opportunity to be successful at SIUE. You may not feel as though you are eligible to register with our office. Let us make that determination. Even if you've never had a 504 or an IEP in high school, come see us. If you have had academic difficulty in the past, if you have difficulty concentrating in a crowded lecture hall and miss a great deal of information, if you feel anxious or nervous during presentations, or if your learning style makes it difficult to complete certain assignments. Come see us!
You may have medical concerns which cause you to miss class unexpectedly, or need textbooks in a format that makes it easier for you to comprehend the message. Come see us or visit us online at siue.edu/access.

Leadership Programs at SIUE
The Kimmel Student Involvement Center is seeking applicants from the FSL community for two great leadership development opportunities.
For newer members:
Emerging Leaders is for beginning level leaders (mostly first and second year students) looking to start developing leadership skills and figure out how to navigate getting involved at SIUE. Over the course of 8 weekly sessions, we will explore topics like goal-setting, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and problem-solving. Applications are live now until September 6 - Click HERE to apply today!
For more seasoned members:
Legacy is a brand new program for advanced leaders (mostly juniors, seniors, and graduate students) looking to fine tune their leadership style over the course of the academic year. This selective program will feature an adaptive biweekly curriculum, meaning content will be altered to fit the specific needs of the group selected. However, some topics will stay consistent, such as maximizing with synergy, navigating ethics, and understanding intersectionality. As a group, participants will complete a capstone project, and individually, they will put together leadership manifestos and personal leadership development plans that will be useful post-graduation. Applications are live now until September 11 - Click HERE to apply today!
Both programs are FREE and available to students in any major or degree program. Questions about either program can be directed to Melinda Daniels, Coordinator for Leadership Programs (melidan@siue.edu) or the Student Leadership Council (leadership@siue.edu). Information about other Leadership Programs offered through the Kimmel Student Involvement Center can be found HERE.
