Annual Bike Collection Takes Place June 24th!
Register Your Bike at the Commons today!
On Monday, June 24th beginning at 8:30 a.m., ALL UNTAGGED bicycles will be removed from the bike racks in University Housing. This includes Scooters (i.e.: Razor scooters), Tricycles, Big Wheels, etc. In order for your bicycle not to be removed from the bike rack, please follow these steps:
Visit the Cougar Village Commons, starting Monday, June 17th, 2019 through Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 to register your bike. The Commons Hours are 8:00am – 8:00pm Monday-Friday; 10:00am-8:00pm Saturday-Sunday.
- Once you register your bike, you will receive a numbered tag that needs to be tied to the handlebars of your bike by 7:30 a.m. on Monday, June 24th, 2019. University Housing will not remove tagged bikes that are properly stored at the bike racks.
- You may remove the numbered tag on your bike beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019.
ALL bikes without a numbered tag will be removed from the bike racks on Monday, June 24th, 2019. If you are missing a bicycle, please visit the Cougar Village Commons front desk. You will need to provide a description of your bike and the location where your bike was stored. Confiscated bicycles will be stored for 30 days and then taken to the University surplus property.
Reminder from the University Housing Living Guide
Bicycles and other personal property left outside or improperly stored in the storage closets on the Cougar Village 500 side, in any hallway, breezeway, stairwell or apartment will be removed without notice and held for two weeks by University Housing Facilities Management. These items present a fire hazard in the storage areas due to the electrical equipment housed there and a safety hazard in hallways, breezeways, and stairwells. If items are reclaimed, a $25.00 charge will be issued at the time or reclamation.
PLEASE DO NOT STORE YOUR BICYCLES IN THE INTERIOR HALLWAYS! ANY BIKES FOUND IN THE HALLWAYS WILL BE REMOVED DURING THIS PROCESS!

Severe Weather?
In the event of a TORNADO or other inclement weather alert, a long, wavering intermittent civil defense siren will sound. Cougar Village residents should proceed in the following manner:
Residents should proceed immediately to:
- The kitchen or bathroom areas of a first floor apartment; or,
- The center of the first floor of your building under the stairwell.
- The local media will carry ALL CLEAR information.
