Keeping Cool!
For apartments in Cougar Village with a Digital Thermostat please keep your AC Fan in the “Auto” not “On” selection. When switched to “On” it will blow hot air into your apartment.
Report Facilities Issues Timely
University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM) is the unit assigned to the development and maintenance of University Housing facilities and grounds. UHFM hours are 7:00AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday and as needed they do address emergencies in evenings and on weekends.
In the event of any University Housing building or grounds related issues please report it right away. To report it Students need to initiate the repair by submitting a Maintenance Request to University Housing Facilities Management (UHFM). UHFM responds to student initiated repair requests as a first priority. For many issues the Student does not need to be present for UHFM to address the issue, so do not delay in reporting thinking you must be present when they come. #SIUERoommateChallenge
Beginning today, participate in the #SIUERoommateChallenge with your roommate for a chance to win gift cards to local area businesses! There will be a new task Monday-Friday and the more tasks you complete, the more entries in the prize drawing! Go to the front desk with your roommate after each task completion to earn an entry into the drawing.
Pest Issues?
When a request to University Housing Facilities Management is received regarding insects, they create a work order however it will not be handled that day. It is added to the Pest Control log for them to visit that location during their next weekly on-campus inspection which takes place Wednesday mornings.
Close your Windows!
Please keep windows closed while the air conditioning is on.
Open windows increases the humidity level in a space which may result in excessive condensation dripping out of vents or from the ceiling. Thank you for your cooperation.
