Meet Shivam Jha, MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering StudentShivam Jha completed his bachelor's from MDU India as a computer science major but then changed his major as a graduate student when he diescovered SIUE's focused course work in computer vision and computational intelligence. While completing his graduate program, Shivam has been an international student ambassador, worked as a TA and RA, and been publicized by SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics). Shivam was nominated by Amardeep Kaur, Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Amardeep said of Shivam "Shivam has been very successful with his research, he recently presented at an international conference about the image processing driven approach to structural health monitoring. Being an international student, he had to overcome a lot of challenges during his first semester but he has made great strides. I believe that he will be a great spokesperson as a GA but also to represent SIUE." Once he graduates, Shivam plans to start a career in computer vision and AI. |
