Dear ${Contacts.First Name},
ID: ${Contacts.Banner ID}
Thank you for your interest in graduate studies at SIUE!
Based on your transcripts, your cumulative undergraduate GPA is below the 2.5 (A=4.0) ordinarily required for admission. If your undergraduate GPA falls between 2.0 and 2.5, you may request individual consideration for admission.
To request individual consideration, please submit a short statement describing the reason your GPA does not accurately reflect your academic achievements, or evidence to demonstrate you can be successful in graduate-level course work. Factors might include:
- A higher GPA in the last two years of your undergraduate course work
- A higher GPA in your undergraduate major than your general studies courses
- Acceptable test scores on the GRE
- Professional experience
Please upload your statement in the Application Center. Once we receive your statement, it will be evaluated by the Graduate School. You will be informed in five to seven business days if your application is approved for additional review by the academic department.
Sincerely,
Jim Monahan, EdD Director of Graduate and International Admissions
