Enjoy MFA Creative Writing Program's New Podcast

The MFA Creative Writing Program launched its new podcast, “Writers in the World.” 

Host Grant Deam, English Language and Literature teaching assistant, interviews current students, faculty and visiting writers about MFA programs, artistic and personal journeys, elements of craft, and more.

New episodes will be released every Monday.

Be sure to tune in on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts to hear Writers in the World.

International Hospitality Program’s Spring Semester Collection

The International Hospitality Program (IHP) at SIUE is collecting used household items for the spring semester.

As the new year approaches, it’s time to clean out your closets and reorganize! Please consider donating your used household items and furniture to new international students at SIUE. The need for these items is great, and we appreciate your checking with friends and relatives, as well as cleaning out your own closets.

Bring donations to the IHP Welcome Reception:
4-5 p.m. 
Wednesday, Jan. 8
Morris University Center, Meridian Ballroom

Household items needed:
Vacuum cleaners
Sheets
Blankets/comforters
Towels/wash cloths
Lamps
Microwaves
Rice cookers and blenders
Kitchen utensils
Pots and pans
Dishes
Silverware

Small desks
Chairs
Reading tables
Small book shelves
Beds/mattresses (twin and full size only)
Small sofas/futons

Apply Today for SIUE Meridan Society Meridian Award

The SIUE Meridian Society is looking to fund projects (up to $5,000) that demonstrate a collaborative effort between an SIUE unit and a community organization.

SIUE College, Schools, major units, departments and organizations (including student organizations) with an SIUE account are invited to apply for the 2020 Meridian Awards.

The Meridian Award application/proposal must be submitted and received by Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

Electronic submissions are preferred to meridiansociety@siue.edu

Apply for the Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award

The Graduate School is now accepting nominees for the Paul Simon Award.
The Paul Simon Award recognizes faculty members who contribute original research or creative activities and integrate that research or creative activity into their teaching activities. A certificate and a $5,000 award, routed through the payroll system, will be presented to the honoree.

Submit portfolio to Graduate School, Campus Box 1046, by 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2020.
