New Mental Health Service Coming to SIUE Counseling Services

SIUE Counseling Services will begin offering Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) to students during the fall 2017 semester.

TAO is an online platform that provides expanded counseling center services and mental health resources to students, both on and off campus. The platform expands access to treatment for students challenged by mild to moderate anxiety, depression and other behavioral health concerns, and will allow the counseling services staff to effectively treat more students.

The platform’s tools include secure video-conferencing, educational videos and exercises, progress assessment, and homework for practicing skills. These additional services augment the effectiveness of treatment and can be accessed from any mobile device. The TAO platform also includes a self-enrolled, self-help feature, which all students can access without a trip to Counseling Services.

Counseling Services is located on the ground level of the Student Success Center, and is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

For after-hours, on-campus crisis response, please call the SIUE Police Department at 911 for emergencies and (618) 650‑3324 for non-emergencies.

Come Celebrate Dave Heth, Oct. 23

Please join family and friends in wishing Dave Heth, director of Financial Affairs, best wishes as he retires after calling SIUE home for 24 years.

2-4 p.m.
2:30 p.m. special thanks to be given
Monday, Oct. 23
Morris University Center, Maple-Dogwood Rooms

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us as we celebrate Dave and all that he has done for SIUE!

Help Beat SIUC in 2017 EcoChallenge

The Student Organization for Sustainability is building a #SIUEGreenTeam as part of the Northwest Earth Institute's 2017 EcoChallenge.

SIUE is competing with SIUC to see which campus is the #GreenerSIU. Points are earned when team members check in daily at https://goo.gl/guiV25/ to update their progress.

The competition runs through Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Students, staff and faculty are welcome to join at any point during the EcoChallenge.

The EcoChallenge is a great way to develop new behaviors that benefit both the environment and one’s self. It's also a terrific way to connect with other changemakers in the community.

Go to EcoChallenge to sign up. When you're prompted to join a team, search for the #SIUEGreenTeam.
