Help Beat SIUC in 2017 EcoChallenge

The Student Organization for Sustainability is building a #SIUEGreenTeam as part of the Northwest Earth Institute's 2017 EcoChallenge.

SIUE is competing with SIUC to see which campus is the #GreenerSIU. Points are earned when team members check in daily at https://goo.gl/guiV25/ to update their progress.

The competition runs through Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Students, staff and faculty are welcome to join at any point during the EcoChallenge

The EcoChallenge is a great way to develop new behaviors that benefit both the environment and one's self. It's also a terrific way to connect with other changemakers in the community.

Go to EcoChallenge to sign up. When you're prompted to join a team, search for the #SIUEGreenTeam.

First Thanksgiving Food Drive for SIUE Students, Donate by Nov. 7

SIUE prides itself on giving, but how does it feel to know that some of our own students are struggling with food insecurity?

Your department has the opportunity to help our students.

The Sociology Club and Student Organization for Sustainability are working on SIUE's first Thanksgiving drive for students, which will result in a campus pantry for students in need.

As the holidays approach and classes end, hunger does not take a vacation for many SIUE students and their families..

The Thanksgiving Food Drive is seeking to provide those in need with a bag of groceries to help make a thanksgiving meal. Organizers are asking for ech SIUE department to donate 10 canned meat products and a small monetary donation for a fresh protein, such as a ham or small turkey.

Each department participating has until Tuesday, Nov. 7.

For more information, contact Jalela Mitchell at jalmitc@siue.edu.
