Seeking Student Volunteers for the Tour Ambassador Program

The Office of Admissions is currently looking for student volunteers to join its Tour Ambassador program! 

These students are responsible for conducting campus tours for prospective students and families and often serve as one of the first points of contact for the University. 

Applications are due by 4:30 p. m. today and can be dropped off at the Office of Admissions, Rendleman Hall, Suite 2101.

Nominations Open for Honorary Degrees and Distinguished Service Awards

The Honorary Degrees and Distinguished Service Award Committee invites nominations from the University community for consideration by the committee. All departments and schools are asked to consider and submit well-deserving nominations, particularly of individuals who show a connection or a commitment to the SIUE community.

Please visit Faculty Senate for details on the criteria for submission and the nomination forms. A list of former recipients is available for review on the University Archives website: siue.edu/lovejoylibrary/archives.

Please note that current University employees are not eligible for awards.

Nominations must be received no later than Friday, Sept. 29. Submissions should include the appropriate nomination form along with biographical information. The SIUE Alumni Association invites you to be a part of the second annual Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run & Pancake Breakfast!

This race offers distances of 5K and 10K, as well as a 1-mile fun run. The race routes are paved and showcase SIUE’s scenic campus. After the run, stay for a world-famous Chris Cakes pancake breakfast. Not a runner? Come for breakfast and to cheer on our participants!

SIUE Speech-Language-Hearing Center Now Enrolling

SIUE’s Speech-Language-Hearing Center, located in Founders Hall, is enrolling for the fall semester. 

The Center offers clients two 50-minute treatment sessions per week with a graduate student clinician, under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Current openings for this semester through Dec. 7, 2017 include: 

Monday/Wednesday: 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. 

Tuesday/Thursday: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Description of Services: Provides speech-language evaluations and therapy for children, adolescents, and non-Medicare-eligible adults in the following areas: speech, language, voice, fluency, traumatic brain injury, transgender voice and accent modification for non-native speakers of English.

Tuition is $605 (payment plan available). Current SIUE Students: 50% Discount

The cost is $595 for faculty, staff, alumni and guests. The price includes a four-day lift ticket and five night’s mountain lodging. Ski/snowboard rentals, lessons and extra day lift tickets are available at an extra charge. Transportation is not included.
