Volunteer to Help Students During Fall 2017 Book Rush

Please consider volunteering time at Textbook Service during the Fall 2017 Book Rush.

Your job will be to assist students in finding their new books, via their "pick list." You will also be on hand to be a friendly face!

This will be a great opportunity to interact with our students and a few parents and welcome them to SIUE!

If you can give time, please click this link to, sign up for volunteering time.

Volunteer for the SIUE Experience, Aug. 17-20

The University will host the SIUE Experience, its orientation program for new students, Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 17-20.

Through this initiative, Student Affairs and numerous campus partners work to:

  • Create a sense of community and connection to SIUE
  • Introduce the SIUE values
  • Put citizenship into action and share in a service project
  • Set the stage for student success and retention.

Visit siue.edu/experience to view the complete schedule of events.

If you have a free hour or so on any of the SIUE Experience days, please consider joining the excitement and assisting at one of the many program events. The first impressions students encounter during this time can have a lasting impact on their connection to SIUE. Please help create a positive SIUE Experience by volunteering using this online form.

Please Avoid South Circle Drive During Move In Day

On Thursday, Aug. 17, incoming freshmen and their families will be moving into SIUE's residence halls. University Housing has developed a plan to move in residents with the help of Parking Service attendants, 65 faculty/staff volunteers and 550 student volunteers.

As in past years, traffic will be heavy on South Circle Drive. It would be appreciated if the University community would avoid using South Circle Drive on Thursday.

Lot B has been purchased and will be reserved for families checking into Woodland and Prairie Halls.

Thank you for your cooperation!

It's Time Once Again to Catch the Cougar Spirit!

Show your spirit and honor our students by joining the new parade to the Cougar Statue during the SIUE Experience!

Join us at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18 near “The Rock” in the Stratton Quad as we welcome the incoming class of 2021 with this parade. This new University-wide tradition will help send a heartfelt welcome to our newest Cougars, as they transition into the SIUE community. Feel free to bring “pompoms” and “welcome signs” to boost even more SIUE spirit!

ALSO, participate in the seventh annual Catch the Cougar Spirit Contest:
