Volunteer to Help Students During Fall 2017 Book Rush

As things begin to get lively again on campus soon, we are looking for a few faculty and staff volunteers!

Please consider volunteering time at Textbook Service during the Fall 2017 Book Rush.

Your job will be to assist our students in finding their new books, via their "pick list." You will also be on hand to be a friendly face!

This will be a great opportunity to interact with our students and a few parents, and welcome them to SIUE!

If you can give time, please click this link to, sign up for volunteering time.

It's Time Once Again to Catch the Cougar Spirit!

Show your spirit and honor of our students by joining the new parade to the Cougar Statue during the SIUE Experience!

Join us at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18 near “The Rock” in the Stratton Quad as we welcome the incoming class of 2021 with this parade. This new University-wide tradition will help send a heartfelt welcome to our newest Cougars, as they transition into the SIUE community. Feel free to bring “pom poms” and “welcome signs” to boost even more SIUE spirit!

Also, participate in the seventh annual Catch the Cougar Spirit Contest:
Wear SIUE apparel on Friday, Aug. 18, to support our new march to the Cougar Statue at 11:30 a.m.
As a special thank you, all faculty/staff participants will receive:
• Special discount on SIUE apparel (courtesy of the Cougar Store)
• A chance to win complimentary basketball tickets to a game of your choice for your department (courtesy of Cougar Athletics based on availability)

How to play along:
1. Appoint a Spirit Captain for your department. Register your department here.
2. Wear SIUE apparel on Friday, Aug. 18, and join us for the new parade to the Cougar Statue!
3. Take a group photo of everyone in your department decked out in their Cougar spirit gear. Creativity may be rewarded. Submit it to tarmoor@siue.edu by noon on Monday, Aug. 21.
4. Enjoy the fun, and help us welcome the class of 2021 with this awesome new tradition!
