IACAC Camp on Campus Today through Friday

SIUE, the division of Enrollment Management and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions are hosting the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) Camp College program on campus from today through Friday, July 14.

Camp College provides rising seniors from across Illinois the opportunity to learn about the college search and application process firsthand from college admission professionals and high school counselors.

Participants will learn about navigating a college fair, how to write an effective essay, how to identify a good college match, how to apply for financial aid and many more topics. In addition, campers will be paired with a counselor-mentor whom they will retain for the school year.

“We are excited to welcome approximately 50 students and their guests to campus over the next three days," said Kelley Brooks, assistant director of Admissions. "They will learn why SIUE is a great place to learn more about college and possibly be a place to attend."

For details regarding IACAC Camp College, contact the Office of Admissions at 650-3705.

Sign Up to Serve as an SIUE Student Organization Adviser

SIUE currently offers more than 300 recognized student organizations. We are always in need of individuals who are willing to serve as an adviser to these student groups.

If you are a full time SIUE faculty or staff member and would potentially be willing to serve as an adviser to a student group, please email me at mking@siue.edu, and I will put you on the list of potential advisers.

When a group needs an adviser, I will contact everyone on the list to see who is interested. If you expressed interest in being an adviser last year, please contact me again.

Serving as an organization adviser can be rewarding, and we appreciate the time and effort faculty and staff put in to ensure SIUE organizations succeed.

Please note that service as an adviser counts as University service for the faculty tenure process (and our office will provide letters in support of this).

For more information, contact Michelle Welter, associate director of the Kimmel Student Involvement Center, at 650-2686.
