The SIUE Staff Senate invites you to a Brown Bag Meet and Greet with State Representative Katie Stuart.

Katie represents the 12^th district and is a former instructor at SIUE.

The Staff Senate has invited Katie to campus in order for her to meet staff at SIUE, share positive stories about SIUE and its value to the region, discuss how the budget crisis is affecting SIUE employees and learn more about her work in Springfield. We hope to engage in positive and productive discussions.

Greeters are needed for two of the Saturday Spring Commencement ceremonies. Please consider joining the celebration to make the ceremonies a success.

Greeters will welcome guests and graduates to the ceremony, hand out programs and answer general questions. Greeters will need to arrive 90 minutes before their assigned ceremony and stay for the duration of the event.

SIUE faculty interested in proposing a faculty-led travel study program during the terms of January, Spring Break or Summer 2018 are now invited to submit their plans. Proposals are requested no later than Monday, May 15.

The proposal form is located on the Study Abroad website under Information for Faculty. Please print the completed form and have it signed by the department chair, dean and the International Affairs director. Faculty planning to repeat a previous program need only complete the EGC section (page 2), and update the dates and budget.

Faculty who would like assistance in planning a travel study program should contact Kim Browning, study abroad advisor, at kbrowni@siue.edu or ext. 2419.

SIUE employees can receive a $20 discount. There is also an “Early Bird Registration” discount for Day Camp until Monday, May 15.

The SIUE Department of Foreign Languages and Literature will host its Spanish Summer Day Camp:

9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Monday-Friday, June 12-23

Spanish Summer Day Camp offers the opportunity for children, ages 6-12, to immerse in the Spanish language, while having fun! Children will participate in engaging activities that encourage Spanish language development through sports, technology, games, crafts, visual arts, music, dance and stories.

Camp costs $275.00, with a $50 non-refundable deposit due on Monday, May 29. The balance is due Friday, June 2. There will be no refunds after Tuesday, June 6.
