Please come support our students and see their great work at the Undergraduate Scholars Showcase.

The Showcase will feature students presenting Senior Assignment projects from various programs and departments. Students will be presenting their projects through multi-media and poster presentations, as well as live performances and demonstrations. 

Again this year, the showcase will also include sssistants and associates in the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities program presenting the projects that they have worked on with faculty mentors.

Faculty, staff and students can receive a free hearing screening:

The International Student Graduation Celebration is a pre-commencement celebration to honor international students, who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from SIUE (May 2017, August 2017, December 2017) and to share the event with their families who may not be able to attend graduation.

The SIUE Staff Senate invites you to a Brown Bag Meet and Greet with State Representative Katie Stuart.

Katie represents the 12th district and is a former instructor at SIUE.

The Staff Senate has invited Katie to campus in order for her to meet staff at SIUE, share positive stories about SIUE and its value to the region, discuss how the budget crisis is affecting SIUE employees and learn more about her work in Springfield. We hope to engage in positive and productive discussions.

Greeters Needed for Spring Commencement

Greeters are needed for two of the Saturday Spring Commencement ceremonies. Please consider joining the celebration to make the ceremonies a success.

Greeters will welcome guests and graduates to the ceremony, hand out programs and answer general questions. Greeters will need to arrive 90 minutes before their assigned ceremony and stay for the duration of the event.

Alan Ox Highlights SIUE Lovejoy Library “Night in the Stacks” Fundraiser, May 13

St. Louis entertainer Alan Ox is the featured artist for Lovejoy Library’s “Night in the Stacks” annual fundraiser:

Ox will be performing songs of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole in classic crooner style. The 1818 Chop House will provide dinner with a cash bar. A silent auction will include items from performers of the Mississippi River Festival and will be available on Lovejoy’s first floor.

Individual tickets are $55, and seating is limited. Tables of 8 are available for $400. Learn more about the event, view the auction catalogue and obtain tickets online at siue.edu/lovejoylibrary. Parking is free in Lot A.

Revenue from the event will support Lovejoy Library’s collection development.

Wanted: 2018 Travel Study Proposals

SIUE faculty interested in proposing a faculty-led travel study program during the terms of January, Spring Break or Summer 2018 are now invited to submit their plans. Proposals are requested no later than Monday, May 15.

The proposal form is located on the Study Abroad website under Information for Faculty. Please print the completed form and have it signed by the department chair, dean and the International Affairs director. Faculty planning to repeat a previous program need only complete the EGC section (page 2), and update the dates and budget.
