Shelly Albert Named Director of Purchasing

Colleagues,

I am very happy to announce that Shelly Albert has agreed to serve as the Director of Purchasing when Nancy Ufert Fairless retires on May 1.

Shelly has been Nancy’s assistant director for the past nine years, and has spent almost her entire career of more than 30 years at SIUE in Purchasing.

Shelly has long been recognized as a leader among state universities of Illinois in the complex art and science of construction purchasing. She is well-respected by her management, co-workers, customers and vendors.

Please join me in congratulating Shelly (malbert@siue.edu) as she leads our outstanding Purchasing staff in fulfilling the needs of the University community and in improving our processes.

Thank you,

David Heth, Ph.D.
Director of Financial Affairs
