The SIUE Career Employment Program is providing an opportunity to register for an in-person, informational session and application, if you are interested in a career in the bioeconomy:

Register for an in-person informational session and application. Interested persons will be invited to attend an informational session with speakers from the NCERC at SIUE, Lewis & Clark Community College, and Phillips 66. The first group of participants will start the program in spring 2017.

Gamma Phi Omega is hosting an event called Hold Up! Safe Sex Seminar. Two guest speakers will discuss consent, sexual assault, bystander intervention, safer sexual practices and sexual health. A panel discussion will follow.

SIUE Celebrates National Student Employee Week, Congratulations Taylor Bergschneider

April 9-15, 2017 has been declared National Student Employee Week by the National Student Employment Association (NSEA). During this week, the Office of Student Financial Aid wants the University community to join them in celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of student employees.

The Office of Student Financial Aid also acknowledges this year’s winner of the Student Employee of the Year Award, Taylor Bergschneider. Taylor is a sophomore nursing major and works for the SIUE Graduate School. She received a plaque, an SIUE mug and a $500 scholarship.

The first runner-up for Student Employee of the Year was senior Jenna Johnston, who works in the Kimmel Student Involvement Center. The second runner-up was sophomore Hailey Rossman, who works in Disability Support Services.

Don't Miss CAB's Springfest 2017, April 17-20

The Campus Activities Board's Springfest 2017 is scheduled for Monday, April 17-Thursday, April 20.

This year's theme is "Cougars in the Outfield."

One of the events will include a lip sync battle:

In order to increase school spirit and morale, CAB has added a faculty and staff portion to the lip sync competition. Departments are being asked to enter a team into the battle. Your routine does not need to be long and can be from 45 seconds to one minute.

There will be a $50 prize for the winning department.

Registration Deadline Extended for Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion Culture Tour

The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion has extended the registration deadline for its inaugural Culture Tour!

On Thursday, April 20, participants will travel to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield for a tour to engage in the rich cultural heritage of Illinois.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Boarding the bus will begin at 8 a.m., and the bus will return by 1:30 pm.

Lunch and tour tickets will be provided at no charge to registered/selected participants.

Space on the bus is limited to 50 attendees.
