Kindermusik will offer its Winter-Spring 2017 classes beginning Saturday, Jan. 14.

Classes offered inlcude:

“Village" (birth to 1½ years old)
Semester theme: The Rhythm of My Day
This class will help bring more rhythm and routine to your baby’s day, as well as help develop lasting learning skills.
We’ll show and tell why music can help little ones soothe into the day’s schedule and help build a strong body and mind network for learning. Tuition is $135 and is due by Thursday, Jan. 5.
Class dates and times:
9 a.m. Saturday Jan. 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25 and March 4 
10 a.m. Thursday Jan. 12, 19, 26 and Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23 and March 2 

“Our Time” (1½ - 3 years old)
Semester theme: Fiddle-dee-dee
This class encourages toddlers to uncover an engaging musical world while guiding confidence, self-control, and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster language skills. Creative movement to various musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing, and spatial awareness. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills. Our Time reflects the emotional foundations of school readiness and the latest research on music and early childhood development. Tuition is $160 and is due by Thursday, Jan. 5.

The luncheon theme is "Turning Our Darkness into Light: Where Does Change Begin?" and it is a celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

General admission is $25 for it is FREE to students. Limited seating is availabe. Luncheon reservations are confirmed only by receipt of payment by Jan. 10, 2017. For tickets and more information, call 650-3210.

SIUE Meridian Society Requests Proposals for Community-based Projects

The SIUE Meridian Society is seeking proposals for funding (up to $5,000) for an SIUE Community-based project.

The Meridian Society is looking to fund projects that demonstrate a collaborative effort between an SIUE unit and a community organization. SIUE College, Schools, major units, departments and organizations (including student organizations with an SIUE account) are invited to apply for the 2017 Meridian awards.

The Meridian award application/proposal must be submitted and received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
