If you're searching for new ways to empower students with the tools and knowledge they need to be leaders in a future characterized by rapid social, inequality and environmental changes, or if you're considering developing a new course or a new module in an existing course, this workshop is for you.
Education for sustainability is a quickly developing concern of colleges and universities. Increasing evidence shows that, when considering options for higher education, prospective students are looking at campuses in terms of the environment and what those campuses are doing in terms of sustainability.
Emerging data, furthermore, suggest that campuses that practice sustainability have higher retention and graduation rates than campuses that do not. I invite you to participate in the Summer 2016 Mississippi Project: "Green Curriculum, Green Campus, Green Community." The workshop is modeled after the Ponderosa Project at Northern Arizona University and the Piedmont Project at Emory University, which have both drawn national attention for their innovative approaches to curricular change.
Register by Sunday, August 7 at Mississppi Project Workshop. Only 20 spaces are available!
