Alumni and Friends,
These past days and weeks, everyone on our campus has experienced significant transitions, and we remain humbled and grateful. Whether in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Administration or Advancement, our community has come together.
Our faculty, with support from ITS and the Library, have spent countless hours preparing to transition to an almost entirely online course delivery experience for SIUE students. University Housing staff waved goodbye to students as they moved out of campus housing and worked with students remaining on campus. Dining Services staff offered Fill Your Pantry kits to students remaining in University Housing to provide ongoing access to food.
We have launched an online fundraising effort for the Student Emergency Fund to help SIUE students with a temporary financial hardship due to a sudden emergency.
For those of you asking how you can help students, you might consider donating to the SIUE Student Emergency Fund to ease the unexpected burdens on our students.
We are also working on new and creative ways to engage you during this time and will continue to post on the SIUE Alumni Association’s social media pages. Be sure to follow the Association’s facebook, twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. Check out the pages now for some fun SIUE coloring pages for artists of all ages as well as links to what your fellow Cougars are doing to help their communities. If you or a fellow alum are contributing to your community during this epidemic, we’d love to hear about it and help spread the word. Send all details of your endeavors to siuealumni@siue.edu.
We continue to update information including resources, campus announcements, FAQs and campus operations on the SIUE Coronavirus website.
This is an unprecedented time in our University and country’s history but we will persevere together. We thank you for your continued support of SIUE.
