Anikina, Guibal Britt Named OVC Doubles Team of the Week
Stefaniya Anikina and Margaux Guibal Britt have been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week.
This is the second time in the last three weeks that the Cougar duo have been honored. It also is third time overall that Anikina has been selected for weekly honors.
Anikina and Guibal Britt were 2-0 last week in doubles matches. Playing in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the duo defeated George Mason's Brooklyn Siegel and Mary Young 7-5 and dispatched South Carolina State's Nalanda Teixeira and Teodora Vujicic 6-1.
SIUE begins OVC play this weekend. SIUE Head Coach Adam Albertsen announced that Friday's matchup between the Cougars and Lindenwood will be played at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center beginning at 2 p.m. due to expected heavy wind conditions. Sunday's 2 p.m. home match between SIUE and Southern Indiana is scheduled for the SIUE Tennis Courts.
