Women's Track and Field Payton Carter Named OVC Freshman of The Week

SIUE women's track and field Payton Carter has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.
Carter placed second in pole vault during the Saluki Fast start, her first ever indoor collegiate meet.
She recorded a new program record of 3.65m in the women's pole vault event. This placed her ahead of Dana Fischer who recorded a height of 3.06 meter in 2009.
The Cougars are set to compete at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational Jan. 11.
