SIUE History Professors Jeffrey Manuel and Jason Stacy Contribute to Wall Street Journal Story on Changing Economy of Madison County

Two Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Department of History professors were consulted in the writing of the Wall Street Journal’s article, “America’s Role Reversal: Working-Class Blacks Make Gains While Whites Fall Back.”
Jeffrey Manuel, PhD, and Jason Stacy, PhD, were consulted about the economic and industrial history of the region. The writers of the article also consulted SIUE’s “Madison Historical, The Online Encyclopedia and Digital Archive for Madison County, Illinois” for historical information and photos. The online publication is housed in the IRIS Center at SIUE.
