Four SIUE Women's Tennis Players Earn Academic Honors
Four SIUE women's tennis players were among the honorees today by College Sports Communications, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Jill Lambrechts, Jordan Schifano, Amelia Gorman and Fabiola Perez were honored for SIUE. All individuals had to have competed in at least 50 percent of matches and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.500.
Lambrechts is completing a master of science in biological sciences with a 4.000 GPA and posted a 16-7 singles record. She was named first team All-Ohio Valley Conference.
Schifano is a nursing major with a 3.866 GPA and recorded a singles record of 20-11. She was named first team All-OVC.
Gorman is an exercise science major with a 3.522 GPA. She posted a team-leading 27-4 record in singles this season and was named second team All-OVC.
Perez is a biology medical science major with a 3.830 GPA. She earned second team All-OVC honors with a 12-3 singles record this season.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team will be announced June 4.
