EPIC-N Conference to Convene at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, June 23-25
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is proud to announce the forthcoming EPIC-N Conference, hosted by the Educational Partnerships for Innovation in Communities – Network (EPIC-N), a nonprofit association with members around the globe. Dedicated to uniting the human capital of universities with local governments and communities, EPIC-N and its member programs strive to enhance the quality of life and social wealth for all involved.
The conference, scheduled for June 23rd to 25th, 2024, will provide a platform for university representatives, local government officials, and organizational partners to explore the potential of the EPIC Model in their institutions and communities. Attendees will engage in discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at adopting, adapting, and enhancing the EPIC Model to drive sustainable community development initiatives.
"SIUE has been a proud participant in the EPIC-N program since 2017, and our engagement has been transformative for our University community," said Denise Cobb, PhD, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. "We are delighted to partner with EPIC-N in hosting this exciting conference. Together, we aim to empower participants with the tools, resources, and connections needed to make a lasting impact on their communities."
The conference will feature a diverse range of sessions, including research and practitioner presentations, panels, and 10-minute flash talks. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a peer coaching session where they can pitch a problem and collectively work towards finding solutions as a group.
While primarily an in-person event, the conference will offer hybrid session options to accommodate individuals unable to travel to the conference site, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
"We are excited to offer a dynamic program that combines presentations from experts in the field with interactive sessions that encourage collaboration and problem-solving," added Ada Inman, EPIC-N program manager.
