SIUE to Honor Graduates During Spring Commencement, May 5-7
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will host its 2023 Spring Commencement exercises for more than 2,400 eligible graduates on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, in the First Community Arena in the Vadalabene Center on the Edwardsville campus.
The first of seven ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the School of Business. Kelly Cruise, who is earning a bachelor’s in economics and psychology, will serve as the student speaker. The School of Nursing will honor graduates during a 2 p.m. ceremony with remarks from student speaker Sandra Obiebi, who is earning a doctor of nursing practice. Friday’s ceremonies end with the Graduate School at 5 p.m. with Rodaina Mousa as the student speaker, who is receiving a master’s in English literature.
Ceremonies resume Saturday at 10 a.m. with graduates from the School of Pharmacy (SOP). Cayden Miller will share remarks as the student speaker representing the SOP. Miller is receiving a doctor in pharmacy. At 2 p.m., degrees will be conferred on graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences and Golden Graduates. Anne Fulgenzi, who is earning a bachelor’s in political science and mass communications, will represent her graduating class as the student speaker. The College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering graduates will be recognized Saturday at 5 p.m. with Mikaylah Burris, who is earning a bachelor’s in construction management, serving as the student speaker.
Sunday concludes the commencement ceremonies with the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior at 10 a.m. Hannah Sauerhage, who is earning a bachelor’s in elementary education, will serve as the final student speaker.
