Donuts with the Dean Provides Platform for Interaction Between Dean Leonard and CAS Students
As the final stretch of the fall 2022 semester begins, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dean Kevin Leonard, PhD, took time to meet, interact with and encourage students during a special Donuts with the Dean event organized by the SIUE Student Government.
The event provided most CAS students with an opportunity to meet Dean Leonard for the first time, since his appointment to the role in 2020.Held in the Morris University Center (MUC) Goshen Lounge, the function attracted CAS students pursuing various majors, such as social work and sociology.
"I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet and talk with students at Donuts with the Dean, and I am thankful for the CAS Student Government Senators Madison Sample, Trent Long, and Abe Jones for inviting me to participate in this event,” said Dean Leonard. “I always enjoy meeting with students. Those who stopped and talked were clearly engaged in their courses and majors, and they had clear plans for their lives and careers after graduation. I look forward to other events at which I can meet more of the wonderful students in the College of Arts and Sciences.”
“It was my first time meeting the dean,” said Lauren Harris, a senior from Carlinville who is studying history and political science. “We talked about my future plans as I complete my degree.”
