SIUE Welcomes New Assistant Director for Student Conduct
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Jeffrey Waple, PhD, has named Mindy Kinnaman, EdD, as the new assistant director for Student Conduct. Kinnaman will assume the role on Monday, July 18.
Kinnaman brings more than 20 years of professional experience in higher education to SIUE. Since 2017, she has served as director of Student Life at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colo. She also provided leadership and oversight of the student conduct process, served on the campus CARE team, and oversaw the on-campus food pantry
“I am pleased to welcome Mindy to SIUE and am confident her extensive background and experience in higher education will complement and advance the important work of the Division of Student Affairs,” said Waple. “I extend my gratitude to the search committee chaired by Mallory Sidarous, director of University Housing, for identifying candidates through a national search. The committee’s work was incredibly helpful in our decision to welcome Mindy as a valuable partner in our student-centered commitment to educational excellence.”
“I am honored to be joining SIUE’s Division of Student Affairs and look forward to the opportunity to share my experiences with the campus community,” Kinnaman said. “I believe that I have a lot to learn from SIUE, and I am excited for this experience.”
Prior to her work at Front Range Community College, Kinnaman served as manager of Student Life and Leadership Development at Johnson Community College from 2010-17 and assistant residence life coordinator at Avila University from 2008-10. She also served in various residence life roles at the University of Incarnate Word and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Kinnaman earned a doctorate in higher education from Northern Illinois University in 2021, a master’s in higher education administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2011, and a bachelor’s in journalism from Missouri Western State University in 2001.
