SIUE’s Criminal Justice Studies Department Hosts Career Fair, Feb. 24
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Criminal Justice Studies will host its annual Criminal Justice Career Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 in the Morris University Center’s Goshen Lounge.
“The Department of Criminal Justice Studies is excited to hold the career fair in person this year,” said Rachel Cousert, instructor. “Being able to directly connect students with agencies is mutually beneficial. Agencies are able to specifically recruit and inform students about their various positions and students have the opportunity to build community relationships and refine their future career goals."
There will be over 35 agencies attending the career fair, representing a number of criminal justice related career fields including legal, juvenile services, corrections, law enforcement, victim services and graduate study.
Some of the attending agencies will be the U.S. Marshals, Homeland Security, the Metro East Forensic Lab, Missouri Highway Patrol, Illinois State Police, Saint Louis University and SIU Law Schools, and more.
“At the Criminal Justice Career Fair, students of any major/minor can find an agency that needs their area of expertise: psychology, business, sociology, social work, computer science, forensics, education or nursing to name a few,” Cousert said.
This is event is open to students in any major and is sponsored by the Department of Criminal Justice Studies and the Criminal Justice Club.
