Men’s Soccer Places Eight on Academic All-MAC Team
Eight SIUE men’s soccer student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
SIUE’s eight selections represent the second-most of any MAC institution. Western Michigan led the conference with nine selections.

The Cougars recently completed their first season in the MAC, finishing third in the league with a 2-3 record. SIUE was defeated in the semifinals of the conference tournament by second-seeded Akron. Both Arkon and Western Michigan advanced to the Sweet 16 of this year’s tournament.
