Secret Service Agent Clint Hill Tells of the Fateful Trip to Dallas and the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy at SIUE’s Arts & Issues Presentation
More than 800 people packed Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Meridian Ballroom on Wednesday, Nov. 7 to hear the riveting Arts & Issues presentation of former Secret Service Agent Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin.
“Five Days in November: A Multimedia Presentation with Clint Hill,” based on the book Five Days in November written by Hill and McCubbin, included rare slides and video footage following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The presentation was in observance of the 54th anniversary of the assassination of Kennedy, which occurred on Nov. 22, 1963.
“To have someone on campus who was an eyewitness and a participant in one of the most tragic events in American history – an event that changed the course of history – was a great opportunity for SIUE,” said Grant Andree, director of the Arts & Issues series. “Clint Hill is a true American hero, and we were honored to have him on campus.”
The Arts & Issues series brings artistic excellence to the SIUE campus through an eclectic blend of speakers and performers. For more than 33 years, SIUE’s Arts & Issues series has highlighted some of the world’s finest artists. Each season, thought-provoking speakers inspire people of all ages and backgrounds. Thanks to the underwriting of SIUE, corporations, foundations and individual donors, tickets are often discounted as much as 50 percent.
