SIUE Alumna “Making a Difference” in the Lives of Elementary Students

SIUE alumna April Becherer, assistant principal at Eagle View Elementary in Columbia, is making a positive impact on her students, leading by example as a person with incredible character. Once a month, she pays a special visit to the home of the winner of the character education award to recognize their great work.
Becherer earned her bachelor’s in elementary education from the SIUE School of Education, Health and Human Behavior in 2005. She was featured on KSDK NewsChannel 5 on Sunday, March 12 during Mike Bush’s Making a Difference segment. View the meaningful story here.
