SIUE’s Friends of Theater and Dance Presents Annual Dinner Theater Production
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Friends of Theater and Dance (FOTAD) will showcase A Night of Acting Scenes, Singing, and Mardi Gras Fun! at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Morris University Center Fixins’ Restaurant. Reservation deadline to buy tickets for the annual dinner theater is Tuesday, Feb. 21.
FOTAD’s major fundraiser for the year will present a series of acting scenes and songs from many theater plays. The director and cast are SIUE Theater and Dance alumni. The company consists of Sarah Goins, Chris Kernan, Phil Leveling, Gabe Cranston, Joe Garner, Louie Lafikes, Acacia Douglas and Josh Douglas.
Masks and beads will be available for all who attend the dinner theater, in celebration of Mardi Gras.
Some of the night’s entertainment includes scenes and songs from One Tennis Shoe by Shel Silverstein, Glenngary Glen Ross by David Mamet, The Full Monty book by Terrance McNally, score by David Yazbek, November by David Mamet, [title of show], book by Hunter Bell, music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen, The Lifeboat is Sinking by Shel Silverstein, and Avenue Q, music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx.
The sit-down dinner consists of either saltimbocca chicken or risotto primavera. Pricing is $40 for FOTAD members and guests and $45 for non-FOTAD members. A portion of the dinner cost is tax deductible. There will be a cash bar.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by calling the SIUE Theater and Dance Box Office at (618) 650-2774 or toll free at 1-888-328-5168, ext. 2774.
Friends of Theater and Dance (FOTAD) is a support organization for the Department of Theater and Dance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. FOTAD raises money to provide students with scholarships, merit awards, student travel, and guest artists. Members of FOTAD are provided with complimentary tickets for theater and dance productions, as well as a preview performance of a Summer Show Biz production.
